Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat) Support Is Here

Ubuntu 24.04 has been released to production, so you can now choose it as your operating system image when you deploy new servers with RunCloud.

Note: We do not recommend directly updating servers that are running production workloads. The safest migration path is to deploy a new server and migrate web applications and databases over to the fresh installation of Ubuntu 24.04. We are unable to support migrations of live production workloads.

Ubuntu 24.04 is currently only supported on NGINX servers. It is not yet available on OpenLiteSpeed servers.

Backup Directory Naming

  • Improved: The directory structure for full backups has been improved. Previously, only the <instanceId> was used as the directory name. Now, the structure includes more detailed information: <instanceId>-<backupType>-web-<webAppName>-db-<dbName>.
Note: This feature was a popular request from users who integrate with external backup storage. With this update, you can now easily identify the web application and/or database name in the backup directory.

Incremental Backup Service
  • Improved: Various behind-the-scenes improvements have been implemented to increase the stability of incremental backups run using RunCloud backup storage.
